Hello Furr Families!
I hope this letter finds YOU well. The 2nd week of eLearning is behind us and we are about to embark on Week #3. As we attend to each day and week that passes, we continually work to improve our eLearning instruction and communication. Parents, thank you for allowing our teachers to work in small groups or whole classrooms with your child, through Google Hangout or Meets. I can speak for my staff, our teachers MISS your child or children. It's been a relief for our teachers to be able to see and work with their classroom kids through Google.
As we progress in this mode of eLearning, please know that if you need any technology help...whether its trying to gain access to a website or a chromebook doesn't work, there is a technology helpdesk that is hear to help. See notice below:
HOME HELP TECHNOLOGY LINE:
Parents and Students please email us at HomeHelp@prosper-isd.net or call 469-219-2444 for help. We are monitoring the phone between the hours of 8 to 4 Monday through Friday. Please leave a detailed voice message and a contact number where we can contact you. Outside of those hours please feel free to send an email to HomeHelp@prosper-isd.net and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
ATTENDANCE:
Everyday, attendance needs to be taken. Our teachers have an attendance sheet that students need to log-in and sign, on a daily basis. Please make sure your child is signing in.
CLASSWORK:
A general rule of thumb is that classwork should take approximately 2-2.5 hours per day. Approximately 30 minutes or less per day should be spent on each subject. If you find that your child is on his/her computer longer than that, please have a discussion with your child and if further discussion is needed, please reach out to your child's teacher. All daily required classwork should be posted before 8:30 AM.
INDEPENDENT STUDENT WORK:
We encourage our students to work independently, as they work on assignments and assessments at school. We are trying to build independent thinkers, self-starters and having students advocate for themselves. Parents, please encourage this.
FURR PARENT SURVEY:
Please fill out this survey to give us feedback about eLearning in order for us to give your child and family the best experience possible.
We will stay connected with you through our multiple communications channels and ask that you please visit our COVID-19 eLearning and Informational Updates page to receive the most current and accurate information about this extended closure and Prosper ISD's response to the COVID-19 health concern.
WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. We recognize the fact that COVID-19 is affecting our community, our parents, our students, my staff, everyone's day-to-day operations. We will continue to support our students education in the best manner we know how, which is eLearning. While I recognize this is not always a perfect platform, we are continually striving to make it beneficial and more user friendly for our students and families. I wanted to thank you parents for your patience and grace. Please know that we are in this together as we educate our kids! Thank you for entrusting us with your children so that we can make the world a better place. It starts with us...Be Kind!
Respectfully,
