April 15, 2024
On Monday, April 8th, the students and staff at Ben Franklin took the opportunity to step outside to view the solar eclipse through our solar glasses. Even though we only experienced a partial eclipse here in Wisconsin, it was a spectacular sight to see. Many students commented that the light outside made it seem like it was a cloudy day, but then when they looked up through their glasses, there wasn’t a cloud in sight, only the moon was impeding on the light from the sun. Their thoughts and observations throughout the event were wonderful to hear and I hope the experience is one they will remember for a lifetime.
I want to give a huge shout out to our office assistant Mrs. Melissa Braun, who reached out to a contact at the Franklin Post Office on Monday morning to determine the whereabouts of our glasses when they didn’t arrive over the weekend. Not only did her contact locate the glasses, they had someone immediately run them to Ben Franklin. Mrs. Braun then counted and sorted glasses for every class! She was the real MVP of the day - thank you Mrs. Braun!
