Causes and Risks
The leading cause of lung cancer is smoking.
Cornwall in England have unusually high concentrations of radon gas in their rocks making them have a higher risk of getting lung cancer, just as well as smokers.
Signs and Symptoms
Some symptoms of lung cancer might include a slight cough, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, and or general fatigue.
Complications
If you have lung cancer there are many complications that may happen such as, coughing up blood, fluid in the chest, or the cancer may spread to other parts of the body besides just the lungs.
Treatment
There are a few different types of treatment for lung cancer patients, there is surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or even having to go through all three of these treatments maybe a possibility.
Pathophysiology
The pathophysiology of lung cancer development is complex and incompletely understood. The genes influenced in the pathogenesis of lung cancer produce proteins involved in cell growth and differentiation, cell cycle processes, apoptosis, angiogenesis, tumor progession, and immune regulation.
