Happy New Year!
Welcome back after our Christmas break. I hope everyone had a wonderful break and a chance to rest, relax, and get rejuvenated for the new year. We are beginning the stretch of quality instructional time from now until spring break - unless we have snow days! It is important that your child be at school every day unless he/she is sick. When students are absent, some work can be sent home. However, the direct instruction from the teacher is missed and much of the work done in class is difficult to duplicate at home. If your child is out sick and goes to the doctor, please be sure to get a doctor's excuse and send it in when your child returns.
Report Cards
Report Cards for the 2nd 9-weeks grading period will go home on Friday, January 6th. If you have any questions concerning your child's report card, please contact your child's teacher. They will be happy to get with you to explain/address any concerns you may have. Spring Parent Conferences will not be schedule until the end of the 3rd 9-weeks in March, so please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher if you have concerns now.
Magness Creek Hoodies
We have some "Life is Better at the Creek" hoodies for sale. We have a few child and adult sizes left. However, we are going to place one more order, so if you would like one, please call the school office and let us know by Tuesday, January 10th. We will put you on the list to call when we get in our next order. The hoodies are $20 each.
Weather Watcher
Be a weather watcher! During this time of year the weather can really fluctuate in temperature. If the temperature is below 32 degrees with the wind chill, we keep students in. If the temperature is above 32 degrees, students will go out for recess. However, we still may keep some in if they don't have a coat or jacket. Often times we have we have some students dressed in a T-shirt and no coat or jacket when it is cold outside. Please monitor what your child is wearing to school and make sure they have a coat on those cold days!
Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
We will be closed on Monday, January 16th for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. However, this day is also a Snow Make-up Day. So, in the event that we are out of school due to snow before January 16th, then it will be a make-up day.
Class Pictures
Lifetouch will be here on Tuesday, January 24th to take class pictures. You will be receiving information about ordering a class picture as the date gets closer.
