Warrior News
A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
November 13, 2020
Hello Warrior Nation,
This week was highlighted by the opportunity to celebrate and recognize the greatest example of true Warriors, the men and women of our military. Though we were disappointed that we were unable to host our annual luncheon for our local veterans, our day began with a powerful message from one of our teachers, who himself is a veteran. To summarize his main point, we live in the greatest nation in the world. The incredible freedoms and privileges we experience have been earned and defended for us by the brave men and women, true Warriors, who serve our country in the military. Thank you to all of the men and women, and their families, who in the past, present, or in the future, serve this great nation. God bless America.
As we continue to navigate through the challenges of this pandemic and the wide array of stressors it has created on everyone, I would like to remind us to continue to keep a close eye on our students. Our nation, state, and our very own community continue to see a spike in the mental health struggles in our adolescents as they try to make sense of these difficult times. As adults, we can often see a bigger picture, but for many of our students, these past months have shaken them deeply. Unfortunately, many adolescents turn to unhealthy approaches to cope with their stress. Across the nation there has been a surge in teen drug and alcohol use during this time. Electronic vaping devices continue to be a major issue. Whether it be the highly addictive nicotine or the even more dangerous highly concentrated THC liquids, these devices are easy for teens to access, use, and hide. Please continue to speak with your young adults about the dangers involved and healthier approaches to coping with stress. If you interested in more information about the risks involved with vaping HERE is a good resource to start.
If you sense your child is struggling in any way, please reach out to any member of our Student Service or Administrative teams. Students can respond differently to these challenges and we want to ensure we have all hands and hearts working together to ensure our students know they are cared about and supported.
As always, we greatly appreciate your continued support and partnership as we all work hard to stay safe so we can continue to stay open!

March of Dimes Miracle Moment November 17th
Hello Muskego Warriors! On November 17th during 2nd hour, FBLA will be hosting our annual miracle moment for the March of Dimes. March of Dimes is a nonprofit organization which focuses on premature birth by spreading awareness and education. On Tuesday, we will be collecting spare change/money in our 2nd hour classes. We also ask that students wear purple to school to show support of the cause.
Thank you!
Student Council Annual Food Drive
Hello MHS staff, my name is Julia Davis and I am the Community Events representative for Student Council! Our annual food drive is coming up, and is going to take place the first week after Thanksgiving break which is the week of Monday, November 30th through Friday, December 4th. This competition takes place between all first hour classes, and if you don't have a first hour PLEASE still encourage your students to bring in canned and boxed goods! You can also encourage students to bring in their goods before we leave for Thanksgiving break just in case they are quarantined after. (Fingers crossed we will all be here after break!)
Usually, the prize for the winning first hour is Krispy Kreme, but this year it will most likely be donuts or treats that are pre-wrapped and covid-friendly! Thank you for your participation in the food drive every year, I'm proud to say that I organize it!
