JV
Haydon Mauk showed improvement in the JV 400 and PR'd with a 57 second time.
Girls Track
We had some great performances over the last two days of the District Track meet! We started off the first day with some field events, where Rivers VanDyke had a personal best in high jump with 4' 4"! Kaylie Hamm had a season best throw in Discus with a toss of 95' 3" and qualified for the Area Track Meet! Emerson Hawkins got 5th place in triple jump with a season best 32' 2.25"! The 3200 for Cheyenne Pierce was tough with some gusty winds and warm weather, but she gutted out a 15:05. The second day of district proved to be tough, with our girls showing grit throughout the day! We had both our Varsity and JV Girls 4x100 compete and they got 5th place overall! Shortly after that, the 800 got underway, with Ella Morrison winning first with a time of 2:40.64, and Seidy Carbajal getting 5th place with a time of 2:44.65! Next was the 100m Hurdles, where Nerissa Hill got 2nd overall and dipped under 20 seconds for a time of 19.53! Quickly after the 100 Hurdles, we had the open 100m, where we had quite a showing as well! Samantha Kleinmeyer got 3rd overall in 100m with a 13.39, qualifying her for the Area Track Meet! Emerson Hawkins got 6th place with a time of 14.02! Our JV Girls 4x200m got 3rd overall in a tight finish! Then later on in the day, the 1600m got underway and we had two great performances, with Ella Morrison qualifying for the Area Track Meet in that as well! Cheyenne Pierce ran a PR in the 1600m with a time of 6:46! Then to end the day, our Varsity Girls 4x400m got 5th place in that as well, competing extremely hard and fighting every step of the way! The coaches are incredibly proud of how hard everyone competed and we wish those who qualified for the Area Track Meet in Llano next Wednesday the best of luck!
