Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
I hope that you and your family are doing well and staying warm with this recent snowy weather. I appreciate our students' commitment to learning during these past two remote learning days, and I am grateful to our teachers for their efforts to create meaningful learning opportunities for students despite the inclement weather.
I wish you and your family a great Spring Break next week. This is an important time for our students and staff to rest and recharge, as we will have so many exciting opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement in the final weeks of our school year after break. Also, I know many students will continue to work on their academics, compete in athletics, and engage in other extracurricular activities during the break. Regardless if your Spring Break is busy or relaxing, I wish all of our students and families an outstanding break!
Senior families - please plan to attend our Wednesday, March 27th meeting regarding Graduation and the end of the year for the incredible Erie High School Class of 2024 at 6:00 pm in the EHS Auditorium. Ms. Russell and I will provide a lot of important updates and information regarding the remainder of the school year and, most importantly, the Class of 2024 Graduation.
I’m looking forward to a successful end to this school year and students come back prepared to work hard through the final stretch. Thank you for your continued partnership in support of your child(ren) and our school.
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal
Athletes of the Month
Kayla Kirchoffner (12th)
Kayla Kirchoffner is the EHS Student-Athlete for March. As goalie for our Tiger soccer team, Kayla exhibited outstanding skill and leadership in securing two impressive victories this week, with scores of 7-3 against Riverdale Ridge and 1-0 against Prairie View. Beyond her remarkable athletic achievements, Kayla maintains an exceptional 4.291 GPA, demonstrating her dedication to excellence both on and off the field. We congratulate Kayla on her well-deserved recognition and wish her continued success as she pursues her passion for soccer at the University of Arizona this fall!
Charlie O'Brien (12th)
Charlie O'Brien, a standout offensive player for the EHS lacrosse team, emerged as a dominant force leading his team in scoring throughout the 2023 season. With two years serving as captain for the EHS lacrosse team, Charlie's leadership has been instrumental in the team's incredible successes. The Tigers have sprinted into the current season with impressive victories against Fairview and Dakota Ridge. Beyond the field, Charlie excels academically, boasting an impressive 4.227 GPA. Charlie will continue his lacrosse journey at the University of Vermont next year. Congratulations, Charlie, on this well-deserved recognition!
