PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Last Saturday I watched an amazing play, Gathering Blue, by our theater arts kids. Mrs. Eanes had them in top form and it was one of the best I've seen. Congratulations to the individual award winners: All Star Cast Katie Eanes & Katerina De La Torre, Honorable Mention All Star Cast Cassidy Reynolds & Charlie Hamilton, Outstanding Crew Mackenzie Oberlin & Omkar Upadhyay. We are very proud!
We have an amazing student in our Storytelling Troupe, Gloria Kunnapilly, who has been selected by the 34th Annual Texas Storytelling Festival in Denton, Texas. She is an amazing young girl. Here is the website for more information http://www.tejasstorytelling.com/festival/sacred-tales.html
On Wednesday we had two of our student recognized for their achievements at the PTA Reflections ceremony. Julia Kim, pictured below on the left, received the Award of Excellence in Visual Arts. Theresa Radinsky, pictured below on the right, received the Overall Award of Excellence for Literature and her entry qualified for state! We are so proud of these great students!
Have a fun and relaxing spring break!

LOPEZ PANTHERS LEAD, SERVE AND INSPIRE
What better way to Learn and polish your leadership skills than to practice them each day on the campus of Lopez MS. Do you want to be a part of the BIG picture of Lopez?
Are you a current 7th grade student?
Are you interested in PALS?
If you are dedicated, responsible, a good listener, compassionate, have good attendance and want to serve your school and community, you may be a good candidate for PALS. We strive to have a diverse cross-section of peer helpers. Our PALS group should be from a variety of student groups-it is not a popularity contest and you do not need to have all A’s ( you do need to be passing though). An especially important characteristic of a good PAL is that he/she likes to work with others, serve in a helping way and mentor younger students.
Apply to become a LOPEZ PAL.
PALS applications will be available on March 18 in the counseling office and due on April 1, in the counseling office by 3:50 p.m.
Please have a conversation with your child about the amazing opportunity of being a Lopez PAL. If you have any questions about PALS or any questions or concerns about how PALS class can fit into your schedule or plans for future courses in NEISD please see Mrs. Volz.

P.S. When you have former Lopez PALS siblings and friends of former PALS asking when do I apply to become a PAL, you know the experience was a win-win.
