Checkout the New PBIS Rewards program at Crest View!
In January we started a new PBIS Rewards program at Crest View. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports. Teachers and staff are awarding points for respectful, responsible and kind behavior shown during class. There are many ways students can earn points; a few examples are; coming to class, completing their work and using kind words. Point totals are tracked and collected in students’ Clever accounts. Students can redeem points at the school and classroom stores for fun items like – lunch with Mr. Stibbins and being the class leader for the day. We are all excited to see how many “red ticket” points we can earn!

Restorative Practices
Restorative practices is a tradition practiced by indigenous communities from all over the world. Restorative Practices helps us build and strengthen authentic relationships between people in our community. The heart of Restorative Practices is “Circle." Circle is a safe place for every community member to share stories, support each other, and share what is on their minds and hearts. When in circle, no one is forced to speak and may simply pass when their turn comes. Our Crest View students and staff take part in circle on a regular basis and it has proven to be key in getting to know one another and building our relationships.
We hope to build and strengthen our relationships with our student's parents/guardians as well. Mr. Stibbins, along with Hanaa Arafat, district 279 consultant, will be inviting you to be part of a virtual circle in the new year. Please give careful consideration to participate when the invitation is given.
