“Being negative only makes the journey more difficult. You may be given a cactus, but you don’t have to sit on it…” -Joyce Meyers
We are all going to experience negative situations, but you have to try to make the best out of it. Stay positive!

HS Student Council Food Drive
The high school Student Council organized a food drive starting just after Thanksgiving and running through December 17th. Homerooms were given boxes to collect donations in. Judy Cogan's homeroom decided to do a little extra after she told them about her passion for helping out with food drives. Every year for the past 25 years or so, Judy has taken her students to grocery stores during food drive season. The idea is to set up at the entrance and ask people as they're coming in to purchase an extra item or two to donate to the drive, if they are able. Only one local grocery store, the P&C, agreed to let them come and only one of Judy's students was able to join her there on Dec. 12. In two hours, Meilynn Stoll (class of 2023) collected an overflowing grocery cart of donations, thanks to her bravery in approaching strangers and their kindness and generosity.
In addition to those donations, Tops Market offered to give Judy a $95 gift card so she could buy whatever she wanted for the food drive, so that resulted in another huge grocery cart full of healthy food to donate to our community.
Huge thanks go out to the P&C, Tops Friendly Markets and especially to Meilynn Stoll, who proved that you don't have to be an adult, you don't have to be powerful, you don't have to be famous and you don't have to rich to change the world for the better. You just have to care and be kind and TAKE ACTION!
