Kids Read Now - A Great Summer Reading Program!
Get ready for the best summer reading program— Kids Read Now! Designed and proven to maintain reading skills over the summer, Kids Read Now is a non-profit organization focused on best practices for reading engagement and growth. We are delighted to partner with them to provide a high-quality reading program throughout the summer... and it's completely FREE to you! Your child’s teacher will help your child choose eight books at their reading level. You’ll also receive a bonus creative writing book containing fabulous illustrations your kids can use as writing prompts. All books will be sent to your home over the course of the summer.
See what popular, award winning, engaging books your child selected by downloading the KRN app. You can also report the books your child has read and track their progress with a fun in-app game! Students who report all eight books are rewarded with a prize and certificate in the fall!
MSTEP and NWEA Spring Testing Season
Test Taking Tips!
Our 3rd graders are taking the very important MSTEP testing and all students will begin spring NWEA testing. These tests are an important tool to show your students progress throughout the year. Please talk with your student about the importance of doing their best when completing these tests. Let them know how proud you are of them, and encourage them to approach testing days with a good attitude. Below are some more helpful hints to make this "testing season" a breeze!

1st Grade Student Wins Big!
Mrs. Gonzales 1st grade class was excited to celebrate their class mate for winning the big prize! Students who completed all of their reading logs for the month of March were entered into a drawing to win some cool prizes. Carlos Quintino won a cool Lego set! Congratulations Carlos! And great job to all our students who completed their reading log challenge!
Our PTO Is So Cool!
Our PTO (Parent, Teacher organization) recently purchased a new sun shade to go over our picnic table area. This shade is a welcome place to cool off on those warm spring days! Thank you PTO for the "cool" gift!
3rd Graders Go Back In Time
Historic Charlton Park is an amazing place for students to experience what life was like in Michigan during the 1800’s. Students attend school in a one room school house, make candles and work in a stagecoach kitchen to make soup and butter. It is a wonderful day experiencing the history of our great state.
