Message from Mr. Finkle
Now, on to happier subjects! Homecoming and Spirit Week engulfed us with colorful signs, outrageous clothes, well-designed banners and healthy competition culminating in a Pep Rally. The annual Homecoming parade, skits, crowning of the King and Queen, and the dance provided us and the community with a colorful display of our students’ talents. A very special thank you to the faculty, administrators and parents for their hard work and dedication last week on making 2016 Homecoming a very successful and memorable experience for our students. Homecoming Results
Congratulations goes to our Homecoming Queen and King, Ms. Shannon Croly and Mr. Benjamin Pezza. Also, a shout-out to the Overall Float winner - Class of 2018, the Presentation - Class of 2019, and the Overall Winner..... Class of 2017!
Thank you to the MS/HS PTA for sponsoring "Under the Influence" student assembly for alcohol and drug awareness and prevention presented by Steered Straight Inc. This presentation uses current and salient accounts to demonstrate the real-life dangers associated with the misuse and abuse of alcohol, five categories of illicit drugs and over-the-counter substances.
Junior College Parent Night
DHS counselors will be hosting a college information evening for students and parents of juniors on Thursday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the DHS Media Center. Come hear about the preparation your junior will need to consider for applying to college in their senior year. ACT, SAT, and prep classes for both will be discussed as well as the search for a college that "fits" and the stress your junior may be feeling as they approach the end of their high school career.
College Accelerated Program (CAP)
DHS in partnership with Rowan College at Burlington County offers students an opportunity to earn both high school and college credit in select courses. Students will receive packets shortly in the courses that qualify for the College Accelerated Program (CAP). The deadline to register is Tuesday, October 18th. The DHS website has more information and a downloadable packet on the Guidance webpage. If you have any questions you may contact Katherine Newman, guidance secretary at ext. 3008 or Lena Galati, Assistant Principal at ext. 3004. CAP Information

PTA College Financial Workshop
Financial Aid Night
Delran High School will host our annual Financial Aid Night on Thursday, October 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center. Financial Aid Nights have become an important tool to communicate financial aid information to parents and students new to the process. These events can raise parent and student comfort, just as they raise awareness of the most important financial aid issues that must be addressed. A representative from HESAA will provide families with information on all of the Federal and State grants, scholarships and loan programs available through the FAFSA. Key information and requirements on filing the FAFSA are covered. The presentation is approximately one hour in duration and includes materials. All are welcome, but we especially encourage parents of seniors and juniors to attend. We look forward to seeing you!

The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Burlington County Clean Communities is sponsoring fall cleanups in our community on Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. It is a great opportunity for individuals and families to be active within their community and enjoy the county park system. It also instills an appreciation for our environment. Individuals and families will take home a great message of where it is that litter originates and why it is important to dispose of garbage and recycling properly. Grabbers, gloves and bags are provided for all volunteers and light snacks will also be available. Students and volunteers can also earn community service hours! Clean-up Flyer
