Fourth Grade Trailblazer Leaders Collect Pennies for Playgrounds
For a community service project, the Fourth Grade students at Roan Forest Elementary collected “Pennies for Playground” for the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. Specifically, the money raised was donated to “Teed Off at Cancer,” a non-profit organization, that donated playground equipment to the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. But due to expansion and remodeling of the facility, the playground had to be relocated. As part of this relocation, new padding was needed to be installed under the equipment for the safety of the children as well as just the cost of disassembling and reassembling the equipment itself. The Fourth Graders raised $1,134.41 to help fund the moving of the playground equipment at the Children’s Hospital. Jana and Tom Bounds accepted the donation on behalf of their charity “Teed Off at Cancer” on Friday, April 15, 2016, at a check presentation ceremony. By Ms. Zamora-4th grade teacher
This was truly such a moving presentation. I am so proud of our Trailblazers and their Leadership, in supporting our San Antonio Community.
A heartfelt thanks to all the parents and community members who made contributions to this special endeavor.
