Feature Story: Thank you to our Volunteers!!
Judy Judnic is a regular face in our building. She volunteers each week and helps in endless ways! She prepares learning materials, helps students in classrooms, attends field trips and so much more! She has commented that she knew she would volunteer in her granddaughters' school, even before she was retired from her own teaching career. She knows the demands of teaching and learning and appreciated when parents and grandparents helped in her own classroom. She loves the time she can give to the many students who she works with each day and I know they also greatly appreciate her warmth and encouragement! Thank you Judy!!!
Principal's Pride
It is my pleasure to acknowledge the six students who did the readings for the Veteran's Day Program. Brooklyn Kelly, Isabella Barone, Jaycee Stephens, Aubree Foldy, Logan Matherne, and Jordan Peters. These students represented the elementary with maturity and confidence. They worked hard practicing their individual readings and honored our area Veteran's with their articulate presentations. Thank you all!
It is also my pleasure to acknowledge Kellen Blanchette and Joel Weeks, who are consistently helpful and maintain positive attitudes in many situations.
Kellen continually demonstrates a positive and helpful attitude by cheering others up when they are sad. Thank you Kellen!
Joel is always willing and eager to lend a helping hand to his classmates, teacher and anyone else in need. His smile and kindness are contagious! Thank you Joel!

Veteran's Day Program
Cadott Elementary says "thank you" to PACE & LIONS Club
Thanksgiving is an important holiday, because it makes us think about all the wonderful opportunities, and people we have in our lives. We would like to take some time today and recognize a couple of groups who have helped our students and staff at Cadott Elementary.
We would like to thank PACE for all of the things they have done for our school. They help organize fundraisers to pay for games and materials in the classrooms. They fund field trip and bus rides to the field trips. They feed our staff during parent teacher conferences. They provide gifts, encouragement and support for staff members during teacher appreciation week and throughout the year. They provide fun activities outside our school day, to bring our community together. For all that you do and for all of your support, we would like to thank you PACE.
We would like to thank the Lions Club for all of the things that they have done for our school. They provide vision screenings to our elementary students and for child find days. They provide glasses for those students who need a pair to use for school. They sell beautiful roses yearly. They help with the Monster Mash. They donate a busload of supplies and backpacks at the start of the year. They provided the staff with wonderful lunches as well as their support and encouragement. For all that you do and for all of your support, we would like to thank you Cadott Lions Club.
Tobacco Prevention Program
Marshfield Clinic contacted Cadott Elementary School this summer with an interest in donating money towards a Tobacco Prevention Program at the elementary level. After much communication it is with great excitement that $1000 was presented to Mrs. Goettl and Jessica Hager, School Nurse at an assembly on November 16th. Cadott Elementary will be working on developing and implementing this program. Thank you to Marshfield Clinic for this wonderful opportunity.

Destination Imagination
I am pleased to announce this year’s Destination Imagination team! After eighteen students tried out, the students with the highest scores were asked to join the team. The new team members, all from fourth grade, are: Brooklyn Hrdlicka, Keira Urbanek, Jackson Barone, Tristan Moucha, and Tarynn Donahue. The returning members are 5th graders Jaycee Stephens and Axel Tegels.
I am still looking for help to manage a Destination Imagination team of up to 7 students at the 4th, 5th or 6th grade level. I would be helping that individual every step of the way.
What is DI? Destination Imagination is an extracurricular learning program that encourages students to have fun, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM(science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) the arts, and service learning. Participants build on their strengths while learning patience, flexibility, persistence, respect for others and their ideas, and general team-building skills. Teams present their solutions at a tournament. The season typically goes from December through mid-April. Teams meet once a week up until tournament time, in which they sometimes need to meet more frequently.

3RD GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
3rd Grade Girls worked hard and continued to improve both individually and as a team in their 2nd basketball tournament in Elk Mound on November 12th. With lots of family and friends cheering them on they were aggressive on defense in stealing the ball and anticipating passes. They also played smart on offense working on setting picks and rebounding the ball. Congratulation girls on a job well done during all 3 games!
Their last tournament is on Saturday December 3rd. If anyone wants to come and cheer them on, they will be playing at 12pm, 1245pm and 130pm. Go Hornets!

What Is Love and Logic All About?
The Love and Logic Institute is dedicated to making parenting and teaching fun and rewarding, instead of stressful and chaotic. We provide practical tools and techniques that help adults achieve respectful, healthy relationships with their children. All of our work is based on a psychologically sound parenting and teaching philosophy called Love and Logic.
What Is Love and Logic?
Children learn the best lessons when they're given a task and allowed to make their own choices (and fail) when the cost of failure is still small. Children's failures must be coupled with love and empathy from their parents and teachers.
This practical and straightforward philosophy is backed with 30 years of experience. Parents can apply it immediately to a wide range of situations instead of struggling with difficult counseling procedures
Why Does It Work?
Uses humor, hope, and empathy to build up the adult/child relationship
Emphasizes respect and dignity for both children and adults
Provides real limits in a loving way
Teaches consequences and healthy decision-making
