Mayor's Message
With warm weather, graduation season, and summer arriving, many of us of are planning travel and get togethers with family and friends. I hope everyone has a chance to enjoy some down time with their loved ones, and the opportunity to gather together and enjoy each other’s company.
May is also when we observe Memorial Day and I’d like to remind everyone to take some time during that celebratory weekend to remember why the holiday exists, to honor those who gave their life in service to our country.
Additionally, I’d like to recognize all the graduates of Aledo High School, Trinity Christian Academy, Weatherford High School, and Weatherford College, as well as all our students who are graduating from universities and colleges around the country but call Willow Park home. We are proud of the accomplishments of all our young people.
Enjoy your success and keep working towards your goals, and congratulations from myself, the city council, and the staff of the City of Willow Park.

Rayfield Wright, 1945-2022
On April 7, 2022, the City of Willow Park lost a favorite ambassador, a huge supporter, and a good friend: Rayfield “Big Cat” Wright, Dallas Cowboys legend, NFL Hall of Famer, and Willow Park citizen.
We are heartbroken and devastated to learn of his passing, and we are holding him and his family in our hearts during this difficult time. He was a truly one in a million person and we are blessed that he was such a huge part of our community.
It is hard to put into words the impact Rayfield had on Willow Park. Always ready with a huge smile and a friendly greeting, Rayfield never met a stranger, was always willing to believe the best in people, and gave of himself without hesitation.
He was a frequent guest at city events and volunteered to help wherever he could, sweeping the city and its people into his huge embrace.
When Rayfield had the idea in 2019 that he wanted to support the Willow Park First Responders, he and his wife Di founded the annual Rayfield Wright Celebrity Golf Tournament, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra funding for our police and fire departments, as well as Community Food Bank, one of the 2021 beneficiaries. At the close of the 2021 tournament, the city announced we would be naming a street in Willow Park in his honor, Rayfield Wright Drive.
Rest In Peace, Big Cat, and thank you.
