April 8 - 12
Principal's Message
We had a wonderful first few days back from Spring Break. Students were back into their routines and working on poetry units, story writing, small engine repair and more.
Monday, April 8 there is a partial solar eclipse taking place around 11:40 - 1:40. With this being only a partial eclipse, there is concern around people watching the event harming their eyes because they are looking at the sun. In the interest of student safety and following plans put in place by other schools and divisions, students will remain inside during their lunch time. Teachers have created schedules which allow students time for physical activity inside and fun activities in their classroom. Junior high students will not be allowed to walk uptown on this day, so they will need to bring a lunch. Further information on solar eclipse safety can be found here, Eclipse Safety NASA.
Thank you to Damon Auriat for sponsoring our hot lunch this week! A big thank you to Carol and Jill who prepared all of the chicken nuggets for everyone this week. There were a huge amount of orders to fill and they did an incredible job!
As a reminder to everyone, if you are picking up your child between 4:00 and 4:30, there is a transfer bus that needs the bus lane. Please only park on the grass side of the bus lane.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Bailey Benson
