Update on Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart Update: Our 2018 Jump Rope for Heart event is underway. All students should have brought home a fundraising envelope, an information sheet for joining Rose Glen's team online and a 1/2 sheet showing "thank you" gifts that can be earned by students if they raise money online. We are approximately half way through the fundraising phase of our event. So far, there are 160 students who have raised at least $5 for the American Heart Association!! Students have participated will continue to participate in "mini lessons" and games related to having a healthy heart and living a healthy and active lifestyle in their gym classes. Rose Glen is proud to partner with the American Heart Association in the fight against heart disease and stroke! Below is a link for healthy heart recipes for kids. Check it out!
"Jump Rope for Heart" Information - Please read carefully! NO CASH PLEASE!

Please pay special attention to Fundraising directions below:
The entire month of February is committed to the fundraising portion of our Jump Rope for Heart event. Although its the end of January, students can begin their fundraising now if they wish rather than wait until February. Students should bring home two items related to fundraising:
1. Fundraising Envelope: The fundraising envelope should have all the student information completed including name, grade, and homeroom teacher. Please be sure that t-shirt size is clearly marked so if your child raises enough money to receive a shirt they get the appropriate size. Please note there are youth and adult size options. The fundraising envelope also shows the "thank you" gifts the American Heart Association provides for students in ACKNOWLEDGING the student's help in raising money for them. Most of these thank you gifts are received in March or early April.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NO MONEY SHOULD BE RETURNED TO ROSE GLEN UNTIL THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 20th.
Students can return their fundraising envelope February 20th through the 24th! Please be sure all checks are made payable to: American Heart Association. Also, please be sure NO CASH. All cash should be converted to a check payable to American Heart Association.

Flu Information
Dear Parent or Guardian,
As you may be aware, there has been a significant increase in the number of flu cases reported in the community. Please review the attached fact sheet on influenza for information regarding symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
If your child has a fever of 100.0 or greater, please keep your child home from school. If
the fever goes down after receiving fever- reducing medication such as Motrin or Tylenol, the child should still not come to school. The student must be fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medications, prior to returning to school.
We ask that you please report influenza like illness to the school office promptly.
Thank you for your cooperation with this matter as we try ensure the health and well-being of everyone in our school community.
Sincerely,
The District Nursing Staff
