Tiger Family Newsletter
The Week of March 26-30
Hello Tiger Families!
We had a busy week! This past week our Tigers showed their artistic talents at the Art Show of the GCISD Department of Fine Arts. A lot of people were able to attend showing their support to students from K-12th grades for their wonderful work of art. A big thank you to all the families and staff that went to this event. Fourth grade hosted a Bingo Night on Friday to raise funds for the annual Timberline trip to Austin. This was win-win night for students and their families. We had a lot of fun AND we got closer to the goal of being able to realize the trip to Austin.
In the coming weeks, we are going to be very busy! This week we have the Project Bridge meetings. The name comes from our commitment to strengthen the bridge between our school and our families. We are offering two meetings on March 27 9:00am and 5:00 pm. More details about this meeting below!
Our Sock Hop dance will be on April 6th, and the famous TES Talent Show will be on April 19th. Both events are an opportunity for the families to be part of the TES community and to create memories with their families and friends.
Proud to be your Principal,
Shelley Ingram

The GCISD Website gets an Updated Look
Whether you have kids in high school or a student who just started pre-k, GCISD is a great district to be in. With so many unique student experiences offered, and the sound foundation of LEAD 2021, GCISD is creating an innovative environment where students are inspired, encouraged and supported.
GCISD has been looking to better serve and connect with parents, staff and community members and has migrated to a new website. Not only is there a fresh look and feel, but the simplicity of the site allows campuses to better communicate the incredible stories happening in schools to current and prospective parents and community members. This mobile-friendly site also features news scrolls and quick links to help you see the latest information and navigate quickly to items you need.
Take a look at the calendar on the home page, read our news and events and get to know our school in a whole new way.
Safe at School
Safety and security is our number on priority.
The district and school discuss, plan, and drill on a regular basis. Any and all threats or reports are taken seriously and investigated. Speaking with your children about drills and safety at school is important! Discussing about what to do during a drill at home, helps them generalize and reinforce the importance of practicing at school.
Allen Smith, Director of Emergency Management and Security, will be present at the Project Bridge meeting Tuesday night. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have in regards to security!
GCISD Art Showcase
The Art Show will continue through the end of March. You haven't missed out!
Our Annual GCISD District Art Show will take place from March 20-30th at the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau in downtown Grapevine. All families, students, teachers, staff and administrators are welcome to support our Fine Arts Department finalists from K-12th (including our selected students representing Timberline) by going to see this amazing show.
GCISD Walk of Honor
GCISD will be honoring members of our GCISD community by having them recognized at the NEW Mustang-Panther Stadium.

Ride Change, Doctor's Appointments and Emergency Care for Late Pickups
Ride Changes:
The school will follow the direction you provided about how your child gets home each day. If there is a change to this, you must notify the office in one of the following ways:
Send a written note with your child with details for how he or she will get home that day.
Email maria.reyes@gcisd.net and kimberly.becerra@gcisd.net with details for how you child will be picked up prior to 2:00 p.m.
Call the office 817-251-5770 prior to 2:00 p.m.
Changes cannot be made by text messages or calls to teachers. Teachers are working with your children during the school day and we can’t ensure that information will get to the office.
If your child has a doctor's appointment that requires leaving school early:
- Please notify the office the day before the appointment so the office has time to prepare necessary checkout for you.
- Pick up your child prior to 2:30 for early release. Because of the size of our school, we are not able to process early pickups after this time. This is a shared policy across GCISD elementary campuses.
- Send a doctor's note in with your child the following day so that we are able to excuse the partial absence.
If you have an emergency and are not able to pick up your child(ren) by 3:20:
- Your child(ren) will be taken to KidzU for supervision at which time an emergency care fee is charged.
- KidzU is located at the Timberline Annex, across from the LAC.
- Unless there are unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, our car rider dismissal line is cleared by 3:20.
- If possible, please call the office to alert us of the emergency.
