Fall Friendship Celebrations - Fall Friendship Parade
October 29th, 2021 @2:00pm
(Dress-Up / Book Character / Orange Day)
We have arranged for the East High School Red Raider Band to lead us in a parade on Friday, Oct. 29th at 2:00pm. Feel free to come and watch as we parade around the block! As we use this opportunity to think about an inclusive environment and creating a strong sense of belonging for all, I’d like for us to consider the following:
Students may choose to participate in a fun ‘dress up’ opportunity - costumes must be positive in nature
Students may choose to dress up as their favorite book character
Students may choose to wear orange - October is National Bullying Prevention Month and the color to show your support of this is the color orange
Students may choose to walk with a friend and not dress up at all
Students will not be dismissed early and will return to classrooms following the parade.
Room parents may come in (1 to 2 per class) to help lead a craft or fun activity with a Fall Friendship focus. Please coordinate with classroom teachers.
A store-bought allergy-friendly/treat/snack may be coordinated with the classroom teacher.
We are looking forward to celebrating friendships, including everyone, connecting with our community, and having fun!!! Thank you for working with us as we adapt and continue this long-standing Lincoln tradition! Please let me know if you have any additional questions, comments, or ideas to make this a sensational event!
Fall Conferences
Lincoln Fall Conference Sign-Up 2021
This year’s fall elementary parent/teacher conferences will be held during the last 2 weeks of October. Our sign-up includes the option of virtual or in-person. Grade reports will be available on-line through Infinite Campus at the beginning of December, the end of our 1st grading period. Earlier conferences enable us to provide you with more timely feedback on your child’s initial grade level learning strengths and targeted areas for improvement. Below, you will find a list of areas that your child’s teacher may discuss with you. Please note that teachers will not be able to discuss all of these areas with you but will highlight those that will paint the best picture of your child’s current strengths and areas in need of improvement.
· Discussion of student’s attendance if any specifics are warranted.
· Discussion of your child’s social-emotional growth.
· Discussion on samples of your child’s school work.
· Share and discuss your child’s reading and math assessment progress.
· Discuss how you can help at home to support the growth and learning of your child.
Mask Reminder
This is a friendly reminder that students should arrive at school each day with their own mask or other face covering. Each school building maintains a supply of masks; however, these are not intended to be a student’s primary face covering each day. Please remind your student to bring their mask (and a spare) or other face covering to school with them daily.
Volunteers/Visitors
In an effort to make Lincoln the safest possible environment for our children, we ask that all visitors and volunteers please sign in at the office (Driver’s License required) and always wear a nametag identifying yourself as a visitor, including volunteering on our playground and our outdoor classroom. All staff members have been directed to ask adults not wearing proper identification to return to the office. We know you agree that safety must be our number one concern.
Also, we request that all volunteers and chaperones complete a background check verification form. We no longer use paper applications. In compliance with board policies, our district began this procedure a few years ago. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but this practice ensures the safest environment for our children. The completed background checks are valid for three years.
Breakfast Served 8:00 - 8:15am
