HOW DID ISABELLE RESPOND TO HER ADVERSITIES? (PROBLEM/SOLUTION)
Isabelles dad has passed away about 2 years ago, and her mother is still having a hard time recovering from it. Her mom affects the entire family, so it is a large burden on their family. It's difficult for their family to think about the death, so Isabelle and her sister try to make the subject more comfortable. As a solution they carry out traditions that were stopped soon after the passing of their dad, celebrating Hanukkah. This makes Isabelles mom feel happy and supportive and it's a big possibility that she is less sad about it.
Isabelle has a very serious eating disorder, that her mom didn't know about until her younger sister ratted her out. As a result Isabelle is stuck in a therapy group where she can learn not to throw up. Another solution to her problem of throwing up is having good influences. In the story Isabelle is faced with a bad influence, the most popular girl in her school. After a while Isabelle realizes that Ashley isn't what she intends to be, so she learns to be confident in her self as the solution.
