This week our outstanding learning adventures continued with Fox 13 News Meteorologist Tyler Eliasen's visit to discuss with 2nd Grade what meteorologists do. He also took time to answer any lingering questions the students had about weather.
The 1st and 2nd grade Math Bowl Teams competed against other Area 4 and 5 schools this week and both teams brought home silver medals. We are so proud of the math skills and teamwork they demonstrated. Great job representing York! A big thank you to 1st grade coach Mrs. Mulheran and 2nd grade coach Mr. Turner for preparing our students.
York's preschool students participated in a Special Olympics field day this week. They had a great day competing in various challenges and sports.
The 5th grade Safety Patrol members received their badges this week in a "breakfast & badges" ceremony. It was wonderful having parents on campus to see their patrols inducted.

Admiral on Deck: Mrs. Kober
Hello York Families! My name is Elizabeth Kober and I am a reading teacher for 6th and 7th graders. I am thrilled to be a part of our inaugural year. This is my 15th year teaching. I am a graduate of Campbell University in North Carolina. I hold a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I proudly live in the Apollo Beach area with my amazing husband and two teenage boys. My eldest son is a junior at Riverview High School and my youngest will be attending Lennard High School next year. We are a boating family and love fun in the sun; if you see me out fishing or at one of our local beautiful beaches come say "hi!"
