A Note from Mrs. Stefanich
Hello Park Families,
Has your child talked to you about the Power of Yet? Last week I was able to stop in and read to each classroom and share about our first Growth Mindset Statement - The Power of YET! When we add the word 'yet' to the end of our sentences, we change the sentence from something we cannot do, to something we just haven't figured out YET. It adds the power and celebration of growth to our words and changes our entire mindset. Instead of, "I can do multiplication" it's "I can't do multiplication yet." Intead of "I don't know how to do a cartwheel" it becomes "I can't do a cartwheel yet." This empowers our students (and us adults) that we can learn and grow and accomplish new skills.
My challenge to our families is see how you can use the Power of Yet at home too! We are all learning and growing. Remember that we can model this growth mindset to our children! I'd love to post some of our students embracing the Power of Yet on our Instagram page! If you're comfortable, email me a picture of your child with their "Yet" photo to mstefan@hpseagles.net and I'll post it @hps_Park on Instagram. (Ex: You might send me a picture of your child in their gymnastics leotard with the caption, "Jenna can't do a back tuck YET!" or send a picture of your child creating a lego creation with "Erin hasn't finished her 750 piece lego set YET!" or you might send me a picture of your family on a hike with the caption "The Stefanich family hasn't finished their 2 mile hike YET!") The beauty of the Power of Yet is it applies to things you might not do in the next year, month, week, or even that day. I can't wait to see what you can't do yet!

Breakfast & Lunch
Breakfast and Hot Lunch are available everyday to all students. This year, school lunches are once again free to our students! This is such wonderful news and we look forward to feeding your children each day! Of course, you can still pack a lunch for your child if you prefer. (As a reminder, hot lunch is only free if your child takes a fruit or vegetable on their tray. Please remind them they have to *at least* put it on their tray for the lunch to be free.)

Our EPIC program is open to players ages 4 and above. Players will meet once a week during the fall, winter, and spring seasons for a weekly practice & game session. EPIC Buddies and their EPIC Coach will assist our EPIC players as they practice soccer drills and play in a weekly game. Anyone in or outside of the Hudsonville/Jenison area is eligible to participate.

Fall Session - week of 9/11/23 through week 10/23/23
Winter Session - week of 1/8/24 through week 2/19/24 (indoors)
