Holly Academy News & Views
March 5, 2021
It's unbelievable how quickly we are approaching the end of the third marking period! The last day of this term is Thursday, March 25th. With three weeks to go, it is still possible for students to turn around less than stellar grades. Please access Skyward with your child and discuss his/her progress, to date. You can see all missing assignments and current grades. One of the leadership skills we instill in our Huskies is the ability to access grades and set goals to accomplish outstanding academic achievement. We provide your student with the tools for success and together, with their home and school families, they can truly “dare to be remarkable”!
Open Enrollment
Holly High School information for our 8th graders!
Due to COVID restrictions, Holly High School will NOT be having an in-person freshman orientation. Instead, they will be posting a video on Tuesday, March 9th on their counseling website:
Families can enroll their students in Holly Area Schools now and select August as the start date. The district office will recognize that date as indicating a student who is planning to start at the beginning of next school year. In June, the Holly High Counseling Department will get a list from the district office of all students who were previously at the Academy and have enrolled in HAS. At that time, the counseling department will reach out to parents via email with their elective course options. If the counselors do not hear back from parents by June 17th, they will select elective options for students based on graduation requirements.
March is Reading Month
Congratulations!!
Our 5th grade Huskies have participated in a Michigan Earth Day poster contest. The contest is sponsored by several Michigan agencies including The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).
Three winners were selected from the entire 5th grade and their posters have been sent to compete with other 5th graders from across our state. The winners are Libby Bonner, Sarah Corby, and Ian Damphouse. Congratulations! Good luck in the state competition!

PTO Elections
Elections for the PTO Board are held at the April meeting. There will be some turnover of our current Board for the 21/22 school year. Typically, we like prospective candidates to have attended three PTO meetings prior to being nominated for a Board seat. Should you be interested and not meet this requirement, please follow-through by emailing PTO.hollyacademy@gmail.com, we do not want to turn away any candidates that have a passion to serve! Power of the Pack!
Congratulations
