Unit 1 Review
Decimals, Fractions, Integers
Multiplying Decimals
Multiply the factors as if they were whole numbers. Disregard the decimal point (line up the numbers not the decimals) until you place it into the product.
The number of decimal places in the product must equal the total number of decimal places in all factors!
Decimals in Dividend
Place the decimal point in the quotient directly above where it is in the dividend. Ignore the decimal point and divide normally.
Decimals in Divisor & Dividend
Change the divisor to a whole number by moving the decimal all the way to the right. Then move the decimal in the dividend the same number of places to the right. Place the decimal point in the quotient directly above where it is in the dividend. Ignore the decimal point and divide normally.
REMEMBER: Monkey see, Monkey do!
Add Zeros
We do not want a remainder when we are dividing with decimals. You can add zeros to the right of the decimal and not change the value of the decimal.
Missing a decimal place?
When the decimal is out of sight, then the decimal is to the right!
Adding Integers
Same Sign: Add and Keep the sign
Different Sign: Subtract and keep the sign of the number with the larger absolute value

Subtracting Integers
KCO
- KEEP the first integer
- CHANGE the sign to Addition
- Take the OPPOSITE of the second integer
- USE ADDITION RULES

STUDY!!!
Make sure you study for your test by reviewing notes, homework assignments, quizzes, old test reviews, and old tests!!
You're going to do GREAT! :)
