Magee Friday Night News
January 18th, 2019
Morning routines
- Students are outside before school, unless the temperature is below zero, then we are in the gym. Students and families are not allowed to congregate in the building before school.
- The front driveway is for bus traffic only. Please DO NOT use this area for student drop off. Students walking from the parking spots and buses are not a good mix.
- Please pull all the way forward in the drop off lane and have your child ready to exit the vehicle on the passenger side.
- Plan ahead, getting to school right at 8:00 makes for a hectic start to your child's day. The drop off lane gets backed up close to 8:00, coming a few minutes earlier makes for a stress-free start to the day.
- The drop off lane doors are locked at 8:00. Students arriving after 8:00 are late and must check in the office for a tardy pass.
January Character trait
Perseverance is the ability and self control that pushes you to work through challenges. Having perseverance means that when you are facing a challenge, you use your mind and your body to overcome it. Perseverance means you are able to wait and work through difficulties, whether they have to do with your mind, your body, or your emotions.
It’s important to point out that the definition of perseverance is not “don’t give up no matter what” or “never quit”. Sometimes you’ll do your best but it will still be time to move on to a different goal. However, perseverance is the ability to do your best toward a goal, even though it’s a big challenge.
