Windermere Family Update
Windermere Weekly Parent Update 4.26.24
It’s been a GREAT week at Windermere. Today, our third graders planted two trees in the front of our building with the City of Upper Arlington. Our third graders take walking field trips three times a year to Thompson Park to identify trees during their Tree Treks.

Library Media Center News
May is on the way! We are not slowing down as we finish up the school year! Here is what we will be featuring in our Library Media Center and on Wake Up Windermere this upcoming month: Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, and Teacher Appreciation Week. All books will be due back by May 13th. If your reader has a book that is lost or damaged and will need to be replaced, please reach out to our library clerk Mrs. Maute (amaute@uaschools.org) to make a plan. As we approach the last few weeks of school, watch for information to come home about our fabulous public library summer reading program!
We are loving Bob Shea's books as we get ready for our "Big Day in May with Bob Shea" on May 20th! Click here to learn all about Bob and his books. When Bob visits, he will be autographing any books students bring to school that day. Students can bring in any that they have at home, purchase on their own, or if you would like to support our PTO, you can order a book from our local bookstore Cover to Cover and the PTO will receive 20% profit from all sales! Use this link to order books and have them delivered directly to school to be passed out on the day of the visit for your reader to get personally autographed by Bob Shea! (Sale concludes May 1st.) Consider following Bob Shea on Instagram! He's a real hoot! Ask your readers about his books!

Student iPad Distribution Information
Each student will return their old iPad and receive a new 10th-generation iPad as the 2024-25 school year begins. These new devices include a keyboard case plus increased storage, processor speed, and a USB-C charging cable and power adapter.
Elementary Students:
Elementary Student devices will be automatically configured and ready for use when they are delivered to classrooms prior to the first day of school.
Middle and High School Students:
All Middle and High School students will need to pick up their device over the summer during the weeks of July 29th and August 5th. For students that are not able to pick up their devices during these 2 weeks, we will have iPads available for pickup at the tech offices in each building at the start of school.
There will be more details coming out in future updates.
New iPad and Wired Headphone Compatibility Information
The new iPads no longer feature a traditional headphone jack. At this point in time we are recommending families purchase USB-C Headphones for use with the new iPads.
