Fuller Family Newsletter
Vol 1 No 16 June 14, 2020
Thank you!
At the moment I don't know for sure what next school year is going to look like. However, I will continue to reach out over the summer to the Fuller community to keep you informed as we receive guidance from the state and the Framingham Public Schools solidifies its plans. I know that our main goal will be to educate the students in our city the best way we can while keeping them safe.
As difficult as the past three months have been, I applaud the students who have shown resilience and have continued engaging with their teachers and peers because they have learned that education is not just about grades, but it is about learning new information and skills . I applaud the parents, guardians, older brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, and neighbors who have supported our children in their learning and have supported their children while dealing with a national medical and social crisis. I applaud the teachers and support staff at Fuller who have worked tirelessly to provide lessons and learning opportunities for our students, often while also caring for their own children and loved ones at home. This has been a community effort, and I applaud everyone who has done their part.
Thank you for a wonderful first year, and I am looking forward to seeing many of you in August. Have a safe and restful summer.
Grades and Report Cards
The final day of the school year is Thursday, June 18th. Final Report Cards will be available through Aspen on the afternoon of June 18th.
All students will receive a P (Participation) or an NP (No Participation) for Trimester 3. For state reporting purposes, we will be assigning a P (Pass) in the “Final Grade” column for all students on their report cards. When reviewing your student’s report card, we recommend focusing on trimester grades rather than the final grade. Please share with your students that their efforts have been noticed by their teachers. During our time in remote learning, students who participated continued to build and refine skills, add to their knowledge base, and develop time management strategies that will prove to be invaluable in their future both in and out of school.
During this last week of school, teachers have been arranging times for the students on their teams to meet in groups in order to participate in a number of activities and to provide the students an opportunity to wish each other and their teachers a Happy Summer. Please encourage your children to participate in these activities; they are designed to help bring closure to a very different type of school year.

Yearbook and Belongings Pick Ups
This year's yearbook will be ready for distribution in late July or early August. As soon as we have the yearbooks in hand, I will arrange several dates for picking them up along with any other belongings your children may still have at Fuller; at those times you will also be able to drop off any textbooks, novels, or library books that need to be returned to Fuller.
If you have not ordered your yearbook yet, it is not too late. Just use the link below to order yours.
8th Grade News
On Wednesday morning, June 17th, I will send out a newsletter with links to videos of celebration and recognition for the 8th graders. These will include:
1. A Promotion Video celebrating all of our 8th graders
2. A video of our three 8th Grade Essay Contest Winners reading their essays.
3. A video celebrating the recipients of the Seal of Biliteracy
4. The Memory Padlet that 8th Grade students have been contributing to in order to celebrate their time a Fuller MS
5. A video created by the Out of School Time team wishing the 8th graders at Fuller good luck in their futures.
Promotion Certificates will be available to pick up at the same time as the yearbook. I will let the Fuller community know the dates and times as soon as the yearbook arrives in late July or early August.
We are proud of our 8th Graders and know that they will find success next year.
Chromebook and HotSpot Pick ups
As this school year comes to a close, we are planning for the next school year. Many new chromebooks will be distributed as students return in the fall, however, we also need to reuse many of the chromebooks that were distributed this year. Returning your current chromebook will help us repair any damage and prepare them for the new school year.
However, if you are using the devices over the summer for summer reading, Imagine Learning, iReady, Elefante Letrado, Learning A to Z, IXL, credit recovery, or summer programs - you may continue using your device. You will be asked to return the device in late August or as school begins so that we can inventory every device.
If you are leaving the District and/or you are not planning to use the devices over the summer, we have set up the following days, times, and locations for families to safely return the Chromebooks and/or HotSpot devices. Please utilize the location easiest for you to access in the time slot that is appropriate for your family. Additionally you can return multiple devices at the same time - even if they are for students in different grade levels.
Please drive or walk to the closest location and place the device(s) and chargers in the bin or box provided. Staff will guide you.
