Greenacres Helping Hands
We are excited to announce the launch of our School Community Service Club, Greenacres Helping Hands! As we strive to instill values of empathy, compassion, and civic responsibility in our students, we believe that active participation in community service is paramount. Our club offers a platform for students to engage meaningfully with their community while making a positive impact. We are dedicated to organizing various service projects throughout the year, ranging from environmental clean-ups to volunteering at local shelters and nursing homes. We encourage all interested 3rd and 4th grade students to fill out an application provided by their teacher. Together, let's inspire a culture of kindness and service within our school community!
If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to contact, Heidi Schneider hschneider@cvsd.org or Christina Belknap cbelknap@cvsd.org
Smarter Balanced Assessment Grades 3 -5
The Smarter Balanced assessments, scheduled for May 14, 15, 21, 22 are designed to evaluate student proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, providing valuable insights into their academic progress and areas of strength and improvement. Additionally, our 5th-grade students will be participating in the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) on May 28, which assesses their understanding of science concepts and inquiry skills.
We appreciate your support in ensuring your child is in attendance and has gotten a good night's sleep for these assessments. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further information.
