Students with Dell Computers - If you are a student at MJHS and still has a school issued Dell Laptop instead of the newer "Touchscreen" Lenovo Laptops, please respond to the survey in Launchpad / ClassLink. The icon in Launchpad says... "Dell Still?"
If you are a digital student please click on the following link, https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=MZUbU75HG0aS8l-mEweKgmGP9Rp8fEtKmBRHkLanTt9UNllYOFA5SzdaUFZLTzlPVksxRUhSM0xUVy4u
This survey will compile a list of students with a Dell Laptop. We will then begin the process of getting students a Lenovo Laptop. We are still experiencing delays receiving Lenovo's due to Covid related issues, so please be patient as we work on getting students swapped over. Mr. Hall will call students down to the Help Desk one at a time as Lenovo's become available.
Digital Student Studies - The yearbook staff would like photos of Digital students showing things they are doing at home. This can be working on their computer, hands on projects for school, physical exercise for PE, etc. We will also include hybrid students to showcase what they are doing as they attend classes in the building. If you are a digitial student who transferred back to the building, we plan to conduct interviews with you as well.
Please send photos to Mrs. Luttrell @marat alicia.luttrell@maryville-schools.org or upload them to eShare at www.hjeshare.com school code 12906

Returning to MJHS after COVID-19 - All returning students (with a COVID-19 positive diagnosis or close contact isolated) will be re-admitted through the school clinic and asked several health questions to confirm the absence of symptoms. Please see the nurse, in the school health clinic, before proceeding to other areas of the school. As a reminder, the school health clinic is now located on the first floor. From the back entrance to the school, take the first hallway to the left, and the clinic is in the first room on the left. To reach the clinic from inside the school, pass the cafeteria and take the hallway to the right, the clinic is in the first classroom on the left.
MJHS Cafeteria
Students receive one free breakfast and one free lunch, per day. MJHS offers four lunch options. The boxed meal, pizza, chicken slider, or PBJ Uncrustable all come with a fruit and veggie. Students choose one for their free meal.
Students must pay for extras. An extra pizza is $3.00, an extra chicken slider $1.50, an extra PBJ is $1.50, and an extra box lunch is $2.25. Chips, ice cream, tea, canned and boxed juices cost extra. Milk comes with meal.
Students must stand in line and let the cashier see what they are getting before they sit down.
Morning Arrival & Temperature Checks
MJHS adjusted temperature check frequency beginning Monday, September 14th. Through the first 6 weeks of school we had no incident where a student was identified with a temperature at drop off. We fully attribute this to the diligence of our families to screen their children and keep them home should they have a fever, or a preponderance of symptoms. Because of this, we will reduce our temperature check frequency to 2 to 3 times per week. Temperature check days will be each Monday and Thursday, with the possibility of a randomly selected day. We will review temperature screening data every two weeks and make further adjustments (more or less) as the data informs.
All returning students (with a COVID-19 positive diagnosis or close contact isolated) will be re-admitted through the school clinic and asked several health questions to confirm absence of symptoms. Likewise, these students may be provided more frequent health and fever checks upon the return to school.

Testing Calendar
We will be requiring students to wear face coverings (masks or shields) on the buses beginning Monday, August 31st. Administrators will work with bus drivers to promote and hold accountable this expectation. Masks will be supplied on the buses for student use. Students with health concerns will work with school administrators for exemption of this expectation.
Traditional Learners
MJHS is currently offering daily, onsite campus instruction. The next opportunity for families to change their instructional delivery option will be Fall Break. We must have your request to switch before noon, September 30th. This will allow your student to switch instruction type on October 14th, upon returning from Fall Break. Families will have additional opportunities to make a change at winter, and spring breaks. We are still requesting families to only make one instructional delivery change per year.
Digital Learners
Digital Attendance:
Students who are learning digitally MUST complete an attendance link for each teacher's class on their Canvas Calendar Event each day. When students are learning from home, they will be expected to click on the link for each teacher, each day. Once they click the link and complete the survey, teachers will cross check the form completion with classroom rosters to determine daily attendance. Completing only one link per day will result in absences in individual classes, so it is important that students complete this process for each class.
