Central Elementary Staff News---October 23--October 27
The Best Teachers
Dear Staff,
I absolutely enjoy working with you because your kindness and positive energy towards our students is invigorating and inspiring! Congratulations on conferences. Although it makes for a long day and a longer Friday, I have only heard positive comments from parents. While we are still crunching numbers to get a final count, many of you report 100 percent attendance.
As we continue to try and balance hard work and fun, I encourage you to participate as teams (this includes our team time and special education assistants/teams, cafeteria staff and custodians :) in dressing up for Halloween. We will meet for a staff picture and costume judging on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. in the LGI. We will be in front of the white board facing the back of the room. You won't want to miss the opportunity to win the newly created, epic trophy (thanks Amy), which we will pass around each year!
I recently saw the following quote and thought of our staff:
The BEST teachers
- are obsessed with learning
- crave feedback
- want to help colleagues improve
- see role as a passion not a job
Have a great week!
Julie

NEW! 2018 ISTEP
Assessment
NEW! Instructional Supports Available: ISTEP+ Grade 10 Math and ELA test blueprints now contain more information to help guide schools as they prepare students for the assessments. In addition, a document containing ELA passage specifications is now available on our website. These new/updated resources have been reformatted to match the structure of the new science and item specifications documents.
ISTEP+ Blank Practice Forms are also available for instructional use on our website. These forms offer the platform functionality, but can be used with an educator’s own items, bell ringers, or activities. Browser functionality also allows these to be printed to capture student responses on the blank forms.

Staff Celebrations!

Thank you to our specials teachers who worked in the library with our Pearson representative during parent teacher conferences.
Huge shout out to Shonda, Diana, Linda, Todd K., and the Central Character Company for the Red Ribbon Week video. It is one of my favorites because it was easy for K-5 to understanding the keys to being drug free.
Awesome job math challenge committee for creating the fun Wonder Wheels bulletin board in the cafeteria.
