What is a Biomedical Engineer?
- A Biomedical Engineer analyzes and designs solution to problems in the fields of biology, medicine, and engineering.
- I want to be a biomedical engineer because i am really interested in biology, but I don't want a career that is completely medical, so biomedical engineering has an engineering part to it which is interesting.
What is a typical day for a Biomedical Engineer?
On a typical day a Biomedical Engineer could do some of many things:
- Design artificial limbs or help diagnose/prevent medical diseases
- Provide technical support for biomedical equipment
- Check the safety and efficiency of equipment
- Train and help other people for the proper use of equipment
- Work with life scientists, chemists, and medical scientists to research the engineering aspects of biological systems of humans and animals

What schooling would you need to be successful in the field of Biomedical Engineering?
- In highschool it is helpful to take biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and computer programming
- You would also need a Bachelors degree in engineering and some sort of biological sciences as well as physiology
- To advance some people get a medical degree to be even more knowledgeable or get a law degree and become a lawyer for patients
