Project U.P. is Back!
We are excited to announce that Project U.P, MPCS’s career-based elementary learning days, will be returning this fall! Project U.P. will be“taking-off” on November 6th, 7th, & 8th! In addition to exciting new flights, career exploration opportunities, and engaging assemblies, Project U.P. will be offering field trips!
3rd Grade permission slips & payments are due by Tuesday October 29th. Payments can be made online through www.myschoolbucks.com, by cash, by check, or by money order made out to Manassas Park Elementary. Please note that the payment window for spring field trips (4th & 5th) will open up in January.
Any questions? Explore the Project U.P. website or reach out to the MPES building coordinators, Mrs. Alina Burton (alina.burton@mpark.net) & Ms. Erin Quinty (erin.quinty@mpark.net). We can’t wait to see what this fall’s program will bring!
4th Grade Field Trip
On Wednesday, October 30th, all of our 4th grade classes will be attending a special, free program at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. Read below for more information about this exciting concert! Permission forms were sent home in Monday folders. They are due back by Wednesday, October 16th.
Beats, Bows and Remixes featuring Christylez Bacon and Wytold
Remixing the Classics, this program merges the contrasting worlds of Classical and Hip-Hop music in a collaborative musical program featuring GRAMMY nominated Progressive Hip-Hop artist Christylez Bacon and six-string electric cellist, Wytold (William Wytold Lebing). Traditional elements of hip-hop such as human beatbox, rhyming and storytelling are blended with classical compositions of composers like Bach, Vivaldi and Pachelbel.
