Plessy v. Ferguson
- Blacks and whites were not mixed
- There were things for each race; water fountains & bathrooms for example
- They were deemed equal but to a certain extent
- The Chief Justice at this time was Justice Fuller
Brown v. Board of Education
- Separate but equal was no longer deemed constitutional
- Segregated bathrooms are not constitutional anymore
- Blacks and whites will use the same facilities
Justice Fuller
Justice Fuller was the Chief Justice when Plessy v. Ferguson was approved
Justice Warren
Justice Warren was the Chief Justice when Brown v. Board of Education was approved.
