Today is a 1/2 Day of School. Dismissal at 11:50. No Beyond the Bell
Penned by the Principal
“Jesus, teach us to pray”⛪
This Lent, we have spent time in morning prayer examining the Our Father. It is the same prayer that has been passed down for over 2,000 years; given to St. Peter, St John, and later St. Aquinas, St. Theresa, our Grandparents and to us. It rolls off of our tongue effortlessly.
What do these beautiful words mean to my heart, mind and soul?
Our Father, who art in heaven,
He belongs to you and to me. He is family but he is everyone’s family. We share Him as equals.
Hallowed be thy Name.
His name is sacred. It is to be revered and used for love, mercy, despair, hope, etc. but never in vain.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done,
On Earth as it is in heaven.
We can enter His kingdom but only if we bring His kingdom to Earth through our actions. We imitate Him while we are on Earth. We use our covenant with Him to cleanse our heart. That is the only way to gain eternal rest.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
We know that today is the day that we can act. Today is the day that we can receive. Today!
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Forgive us the same way that we forgive. The emphasis on forgiveness is very clear. Forgive. Forgive again. Forgive again.
And lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
We will be tempted. Today and every day. So we pray to be led away from sin by our reliance on God. The Our Father is our cry for help and we need it! It is our only way to salvation. Lord, hear my prayer!
We continue our Lenten journey with Stations of the Cross, Adoration, fasting, giving, and lots of prayer. We are getting a little bit weary but we long for Easter!
This week for Lent:
Wednesday- Adoration- The students meditated on God's unconditional love for them.
Friday- Eucharistic Procession after Children's Mass
Next Week:
Stations of the Cross on Friday at 12:45- Join Us!
God bless,
Anne Atkin, principal

"...that it is starts and ends with prayer!"
Thank you so much for your feedback! We received 57 responses!
54 people who took our survey gave SHS a 10! 4 people gave us a 9. We are so grateful for the suggestions and affirmations that we gathered from your responses.
We are already putting some of your suggestions in practice!

- Our cleaning crew has made adjustments to the cleaning schedule so we can improve the overall appearance of our facilities.
- The teachers are attending professional development courses as we can continue to improve the curriculum.
- The addition of after school programs/clubs is in development.
- Many people would like to continue at Sacred Heart through at least 7th/8th grade. This has proven difficult but we would love to grow in that direction.
These are the things you would like to continue:
- We begin and end the day TOGETHER in prayer
- Excellent teachers and the way they care about each child
- Individual attention to each student
- Culture of virtue (respect, kindness, prayerfulness etc.)
- Instilling Catholic faith and values
- Weekly Mass
- Leadership/service opportunities for older students
