Parent Education
Children learn and grow at their –own –pace.
Children not only learn at different rates, they also have different strengths and weaknesses. We should appreciate their individuality by supporting them in areas that they find more challenging while nurturing them in the areas where they are strong.
As a parent, you know your child better than anyone else. Don`t be afraid to dialogue with their teacher and share what they might need help with at school. Also share what they are really good at and what makes them come alive. This information may help the teacher better understand your child. How you can help as parent.
· Concentrate on what your children can do rather what they can`t do
· Celebrate that your children are different from one another
· Praise your children when they work hard and persevere. It is important to acknowledge their efforts
· Humor can help! Even parents have different skill sets. When we can laugh at our own little mistakes or difficult situations, we are setting a positive example for children to find humor in their own difficult situations.
