Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences - Celebration of Learning
You will be able to view your childās report card on the MiStar Parent Connect Portal on Monday, March 22nd.
These conferences will once again follow our Student-Led Conferences format. This is an exciting way for your child to show how he/she has grown as a learner and a leader. Traditionally, our Student-Led Conferences take place at school. However, this year students will share their leadership notebooks, learning evidence and progress at home. Students will present to you examples of their learning success and growth in reading, writing, math, and other areas of their choice. We invite you to participate in a conversation that encourages your child to explain his/her learning, possible challenges, and how they feel about the progress they have made so far this school year.
Your child will bring his/her leadership notebook and/or learning artifacts home for the at-home Student-Led Conference the week of March 22nd.
- Individual Parent-Teacher Conference times are available on Thursday, March 25th from 1:15-6:45 p.m. and Friday, March 26th from 1:15-3:30 p.m.
We look forward to this wonderful opportunity for your child to be a leader and also be the owner of his/her learning. Our Student-Led Conferences are a special celebration of your childās growth throughout this school year!

March is Reading Month ~ Don't Forget to Add Your Reading Minutes!!
If your child missed the window to enter their minutes for week #1 or week #2, it is not too late to submit their minutes. Any week #1 or week #2 minutes not yet submitted can be included along with week #3 minutes and entered into the week #3 Google Form.
Milk and Cookies with Mystery Readers!
It was brought to our attention that some students had trouble opening the mystery reader slides in Schoology. If you weren't able to access the slides, but would still like the opportunity to participate in Milk and Cookies with Mystery Readers, you can access a copy of a Google Slides presentation containing all mystery reader slides here.

3-19-21 Covid - 19 Updates
CLOSE CONTACT QUARANTINE UPDATE
As you may be aware, the Wayne County Health Department has adjusted the quarantine requirements for students identified as being a close contact to a positive COVID-19 case to 10 days (from the previous requirements of 14). Parents should continue to monitor their child for symptoms and not send them to school where symptoms are present. Additionally, if your child has had COVID-19 in the past 5 months (evidenced by a positive PCR), quarantine is not required. We began following these new requirements immediately and notified all families where an identified close contact quarantine could be shortened under these new rules.
**REMINDER** INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The Wayne County Health Department, as indicated on the COVID-19 Daily STUDENT Symptom Screening Tool (2.16.2021), requires that students stay home to quarantine for 7 days from the date they return to the U.S. No earlier than the 7th day of return, a student must have a COVID-10 PCR test and have a negative result before returning to school.
SCREENING FORM UPDATED
Please remember to use the Wayne County Health Department COVID-19 Daily STUDENT Symptom Screening Tool (2.16.2021) each morning to determine if your child can come to school. If your child is a close contact to a positive case, please plan on a 10 day quarantine as the 14 day quarantine will only be required in circumstances where symptoms are present or as required by the health dept or your child's medical care provider.
