Weekly Lesson Plan Agendas
Parents ~ Use our one stop shop of what to expect throughout the week from your students teachers. Each week teachers update their weekly lesson plan and indicate what assignments will be taken for a grade. Help keep your student accountable by knowing what to expect each week.
Campus Announcements
On Monday, April 8, Dallas will be the largest city in the path of totality for the once-in-a-lifetime Great North American Eclipse. We are excited to share this milestone with our students, and we want to make sure they are able to experience the eclipse in a safe manner.
In the early afternoon on April 8, students will have the opportunity to go outside to view the eclipse. The Perot Museum has generously donated protective eyewear for each student to wear, and our campus staff will monitor students to ensure the eyewear is on correctly before inviting students outside. The eyewear provided from the Perot Museum is thousands of times darker than standard sunglasses to protect students from the concentrated solar rays. To learn more about safety considerations associated with the eclipse, including skin protection, click here.
If you do not wish for your student to view the eclipse, please fill out this Google form by Friday, April 5. In lieu of going outside, students who are opted out will be able to watch NASA’s live stream of the event in our cafeteria.
We are excited for our students to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event and witness science in action! As always, parents are the ultimate decision-makers on whether or not their students will attend school. If you choose to keep your student home to view the eclipse, please notify Mrs. Jones as you would for any absence. Her email is JonesSM@lisd.net. It will count as one of your 10 parent notes. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
May 4th Election

Current 8th Grade Students - Proof Of Residency
Dear Parent or Guardian,
The Texas Education Agency requires us to maintain current proof of residency for all enrolled students. This is requested when your child first enrolls with LISD and again their PK4, 5th, and 8th grade years as they transition to new campuses.
The only allowable proof of residency is a current gas, water, or electric bill dated after March 1, 2024, in the name of one of the student’s parents or legal guardians. We understand that families can experience a variety of events that affect their living situation, and we can work with you on a solution that meets the documentation requirements.
This process can be completed electronically. Simply scan an original bill or take a clear picture of the bill and upload it to this link: https://tinyurl.com/tskodu
All required proof of residency documents must be provided by April 19th. If this documentation is not received, your child's enrollment cannot be continued at the next campus or grade level. If you prefer, you may also deliver the bill directly to our front office.
If you are unable to provide this documentation by April 19th due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the campus registrar or your child's counselor to discuss the situation.
Please contact Susan Jones at 972-350-2508 if you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance.
Sincerely,
Amy Obenhaus

LISD Recognize Someone
Our superintendent, Dr. Rapp, is focused on creating a culture that makes LISD stand out as a district where we all thrive. One of our district goals is to retain our incredible staff members that make #ONELisd the amazing district that it is. In an effort to include parents and community members in this effort, the district has an online access point for parents to send in positive notes of encouragement to recognize staff members on all campuses to let them know that they are valued and appreciated. If you would like to recognize an ACMS staff member, you can use the link below to fill out a quick form that will be shared with the employee to let them know they are making a difference in the lives of our students and their families.

Resources for Parents
Absence Portal
Parents should provide a note, documenting the reason for the absence, to the school immediately upon the child’s return, and not later than three days after the absence. If the child was seen by a health care provider, a note from that provider is always preferred. If the student was present PART of the school day and missed the remainder for a health care appointment, a note from that provider should be given to the school within 3 days. In this circumstance, the time away from school is NOT considered an absence.
Check Out Procedure
If you need to check out your child early, please email our attendance clerk, Susan Lee, that morning, if possible. Her email address is LeeSusan@lisd.net
When you arrive at the school, you will need to ring the doorbell and show your driver's license to gain entry to the building. Once you are inside It will take a few minutes for us to send for your child, so please plan accordingly if you are headed to an appointment. We will not call students out of class before your arrival.
**PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN PICK-UP PERMISSIONS IN SKYWARD TO EVERY PERSON YOU INTEND TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD, INCLUDING EMERGENCY CONTACTS. You can edit this information in the 2023-2024 Forms Packet in Skyward Family Access. There are individual boxes that must be checked in order to give pick-up permissions.

Click here to add money to your child's meal account and view breakfast/lunch menus. There is a Free/Reduced Lunch application form available in the Skyward Back-to-School Forms packet.

Students may use their personal technology before/after school/during lunch and in the hallways during passing periods. Class time is instructional time. Students may not use their cell phones during class. All phones must be silenced and kept in backpacks during class. Cell phones may not be taken into restrooms.
