Where is GATE taking us?
May Standards
GS4. Students will develop affective attributes to build their motivation and enjoyment of complex challenges.
Curriculum
During our final month of the school year our focus continues with the Power of Machines. We are using the GATE strategies of Engineering Design Process combined with SCAMPER as tools to help students brainstorm ideas. Students will design a chain reaction with simple machines to create their Rube Goldberg contraption. The SCAMPER technique offers a systematic and practical way to enhance divergent thinking, imagination, and originality to help students modify their design. Then they will test and improve their Rube Goldberg machine until it works!
