STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Black History Wall of Fame
Mrs. Anzalone’s English classes completed the Black History Wall of Fame using famous people throughout history until the present. They researched their character traits and found supporting evidence for the traits they have chosen for their character’s poster.
Chinese Name Plates and Art
While studying Ancient China in Mrs. Urso's class, the students learned how important writing is to early civilizations. The students were given the Chinese characters for their own names. They created a name plate with those characters and examples of Chinese art.
Programming Frogger!
Students from Mr. Dilks’ Coding 2 class worked on a month-long project in which they had to program a vintage arcade game (Frogger) with only text-based code using the Python coding language. Each team had to work collaboratively on various aspects of the project in order to pull off this amazing feat of computer science engineering. Over 1,500 lines of code were written in total. That’s the equivalent of writing a 32 page research paper, all in a foreign language! The students had so much fun, however, it didn’t feel like work at all. Every student received a certificate of accomplishment from Carnegie Mellon University’s CS Academy Program!

Together, they identified the key components within the essay, and discussed the purpose of each in developing and supporting the thesis.
