Custodian Shortage
For the next week or so, there are two known custodians that will not be on site unless substitutes are provided to fill in during their absences. We are appreciative of our remaining custodian staff for really working above and beyond over the next month.
Going forward, please ask students to leave your areas debris free as much as possible to allow the few custodians to cover as much of the buildings as possible.
Thank you in advance.
3rd & 4th Period Reminders
We need your assistance in limiting hallway traffic during lunch:
- Please release your students on time to lunch. Do not dismiss students early.
- Please do not send students to the gym or other teachers. The exception would be for students who are on an administrative-approved plan.
- Please give your students a detailed pass if they are leaving your class for any reason (specifically, we need to see the teacher name, destination, and time). This will enable us to focus solely on those students out-of-pocket.
Additionally, please note the following during 4th period:
- Please do not release your students prior to the bell.
Avoid providing passes to students (unless there is an emergency) after 2:55pm.
Thank you for your diligence and commitment to a safe Druid Hills!

Tuskegee Airmen Aviation Career Training
ACTAI is an education and community service organization dedicated to maintaining the rich traditions of the Tuskegee Airmen.
One of our goals is to provide youth programs that are centered on aviation careers and education. This summer, June 5-9, will be the fifth year that ACTAI has conducted its TAACT program. Our mission specifically regarding TAACT, is to motivate and excite youth to learn about the aerospace industry. The program endeavors to instill in high school aged students an appreciation for the academic skills, moral character, proper conduct, dedication and discipline necessary to succeed. At no cost to parents, TAACT offers comprehensive training in the various aviation disciplines and actual flight training is also provided.
Information regarding this program can be downloaded from our site, www.atlantatai.org.

CHCI will bring a group of students to Washington D.C. to learn how the Federal Government works, meet key leaders, visit historic sites and develop a deeper understanding of how they can affect positive change in their communities and their nation. The program, which will take place July 23- 28, 2017, is completely FREE of charge to all selected student participants. The application deadline to April 3, 2017.
Parent University on Anxiety, Depression, or ADD
Chamblee Charter High School Parent University Presents:
“Anxiety, Depression or ADD – How can you tell and how can you help?”
By: Dr. Holly Middleton, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Knowing how to help our children comes from recognizing what is wrong. Is that irritability just being a “teenager” or could it be depression? Does your child have no interest in joining a team or club or could it be anxiety? Is your student just not trying in school or could it be a problem with attention control (ADD)? Join us as we explore these questions and more and find out how parents can help their teen experience more happiness, confidence, and focus every day.
Sponsored by Chamblee Cares – A nonprofit organization providing training and education to the CCHS community to promote mental health wellness and help prevent suicide.
Thursday, March 23rd, 6:30-8:00pm, Chamblee Charter High School Auditorium
All are welcome and admission is free.
Voluntary donations will be accepted to further the cause of Chamblee Cares.
Holly Middleton, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. Her practice includes therapy and psychological evaluations for patients of all ages. Dr. Middleton enjoys sharing with parents her experience on ways to approach the challenges of raising children in a modern age. She holds degrees from both Duke University and Georgia State University. She is a board member of Chamblee Cares and a former Chamblee Charter High School parent. When she is not working, Dr. Middleton and her husband are raising two daughters of their own, and visiting family in her home state of Texas.
