Reflections: Padlet
What is SAMR?
SAMR is a great framework for thinking about
technology and how it can best be used in a
teaching environment to bring about
transformational learning opportunities that
wouldn't have been possible without the
technology.
Essential Question: What is SAMR and how does it impact student achievement?
CLIPS
“The concept is pretty easy to grasp. If you hand the app to a 4 year old they work out very quickly that if they hold down the red button it records. If they let go, it stops.
The clips go into a timeline at the bottom of the page. You can click and hold on a clip which allows you to drag and drop it to a different place in the timeline.
There are a host of other features, such as clip trimming, speech to text and the ability to add in content from the camera or an existing library. There are also stickers, emojis and animations to place onto each clip. You can even add in posters and music.
As an educator we are in a position to ensure there are no limits on the number of effects or filters they use, the type of font they choose or the numbers of labels they overlay. Indeed at this stage the more they use the better. The process will become engrained, while the design thinking can come a little later."

Adding the Standards Extension Manual to iBooks
You can save any PDF to iBooks on your iPad. You just have to make sure the app is installed on your devices before you select the Open In tab or the Share option.
After the file opens in iBooks, it will automatically be saved to the reading app. So, when you go back to your iBooks library, you will see it sitting on your PDFs shelf.
AirPlay
Why? Teachers use AirPlay to wirelessly present lessons to a class.
AirDrop
Why? Ease of sending assignments, homework and notes to the teacher or other students without using email.
- Launch Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of your iPad.
- Make sure both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are active.
- Tap AirDrop.
- Tap Everyone to enable others to AirDrop to you and to allow you to AirDrop to others.
Pinning Websites to your Home Screen
- Go to the website you want to save to the home screen in the Safari browser. (https://www.sagemont.com)
- Tap the Share button. This is the button immediately to the right of the address bar on the top of your screen. It looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it.
- You should see "Add to Home Screen" in the second row of buttons. It has a big plus sign in the middle of the button and is right next to the "Add to Reading List" button.
- After you tap the Add to Home Screen button, a window will appear with the name of the website, the web address and an icon for the website. You shouldn't need to change anything, but if you want to give the website a new name, you can tap on the name field and enter anything you want.
- Tap the Add button in the top-right corner of the window to complete the task. Once you tap the button, Safari will close and you will see an icon for the website on your home screen.
Camera App
The camera app can be used to share evidence of formative assessment.
- Take pictures
- Use screenshots
- Record in the app
- Markup to make notes
Gestures on the iPad
