Ludwig Van Beethoven | 1770-1827
A composer struggling to hear
Early Life
In 1787, Beethoven traveled to Vienna, his future home. Playing for Mozart, the talented composer predicted that Beethoven would "make a big noise in this world."
The trip was cut short, though, after many family tragedies. However, he went back to Vienna as an adult and made money for his only surviving sibling, now living in poverty, and Ursuline Nuns. Although he had a short temper, he attracted friends easily. He studied piano and, though failing his remaining two students, continued to write music.
