Reading and Writing
It is time for our November Book Club! This month's selection is Keep the Lights Burning, Abbie. Remind your child that book club is November 26 so books need to be completed by then. Of course, reading for book club will also count toward Book It requirements. Moderators for this month's book club are Liberty, Joleen and Carter.
This week, students wrote a story about their favorite food. These stories are a practice test for students; following the process used for the State Writing Assessment.

Go TIMBERWOLVES!!!
Hope to see you in Lincoln on Monday at Memorial Stadium!
Math
It has been a busy time in math this week. Students practiced counting coins; using pennies, nickels and dimes. It was fun to use paint to learn about symmetry and find a line of symmetry. Many students were excited to be able to calculate such large sums when adding two-digits together. Much more practice will be done through the year with 2-digit addition. Sums of 15, 16 and 17 complete the last few basic facts students need to know. Have your child continue practice of basic addition facts using ixl. Students may also find activities for practicing counting change.
Social Studies and Science
In Social Studies discussion continued about people who provide services. Students also learned how trading is done around the world. In Science, students learned about the continents and how maps can be used to learn about a specific area. Zondle practice continues in Social Studies on Unit 3, Working Together and in Science students may practice Chapter 5, Land and Water.
