Semester 2 Educational Setting Survey
If you wish to change your child's educational setting for semester 2 (January-May), please complete the survey linked below by November 5th at 4:00 pm.
As you are carefully thinking through the process and making the best decision for your family, please think through the following considerations:
- If you do not want to change your child's educational setting, you do NOT need to complete the survey.
- If you wish to make a change, the survey window will be open from Monday, October 11 through Friday, November 5th at 4:00 pm.
- You should only complete this form once during the window for each child. We encourage you to be certain of your decision prior to submitting the educational setting change request.
- If you do not complete the survey during this window, your child will remain in his/her current educational setting through the end of the school year.
- If you make a change for the second semester, it is a commitment through the end of the school year.
- The only changes we will make for second semester are a move to either FULLY VIRTUAL or FULLY IN-PERSON for your student's entire schedule. No NEW hybrid (part-time virtual) schedules will be allowed.
- Students are not guaranteed to have the same teacher for the second semester.

Physicals
All students that plan on trying out MUST have a current physical on file with the school nurse. Physical forms can be printed off the RMS website or picked up in the front office. These physical forms must be completed by a doctor PRIOR to tryouts. Note: CVS minute clinic completes physicals if you can’t get into your doctor.
Tryout Evaluations
Ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, defense, game knowledge, coachability, sportsmanship, & hustle.
Behavior/Grades
Student athletes are expected to act as leaders for our school and not have any behavior or grade concerns. Poor behavior, poor attitude, disrespect, and grades can impact if you make the RMS basketball teams.
Practice/Commitment
Practice is an expectation not a choice. Practice is how players earn their playing time and how the entire team gets better. All players are expected to be at practice unless they are sick or have a family emergency. It is the players responsibility to communicate with their coach if they will not be present. Practice is EVERYDAY unless there is no school. Practice alternates mornings and afternoons weekly. One week you will practice in the morning and the following week you will practice in the afternoon.
The basketball season runs from October to January. This is one of the longest seasons, but keep in mind it is because of Thanksgiving and Christmas break. You must be able to commit to the entire season. MOST games are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are a few games that are on different days.
Finances
Players must pay dues and/or fundraise. Dues cover transportation, player swag, uniforms, equipment, etc. This breakdown and amount will be provided to the players that make the teams.
