2 State Solution
Ending the Palestinian Israeli Conflict
Call To Action
- Something needs to be done about this bloody and violent conflict that has been going on for over 60 years.
- Since 1987 over 35,500 Israelis and Palestinians have been killed in this violent conflict.
- Since Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, over 11,000 rockets have been fired into Israel.
- Since 1989, there have been about 170 suicide attacks committed.
Description
Palestinians and Israelis have clashed since the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. Palestinians feel that they were kicked out of their land, and feel that they are persecuted in Gaza and the West Bank. Israelis believe that there have been unjustifiable terrorist attacks for years.
Possibly the most plausible solution to this conflict, and the most peaceful agreement would be the 2 state solution. The 2 state solution was first discussed in 1947 from a U.N. Partition plan to make a Palestinian state, and a Jewish State. The borders of the Palestinian Authority and Israel have changed since 1947 so the 2 state solution would not be the same as originally discussed. But the borders of the 2 states would be: the Palestinian state- Gaza and the West Bank, Jewish state- current Israeli borders.
