Progress Reports
Kindergarten students received a Snapshot instead of a Progress Report. The snapshot gives specific student progress information as well as social/emotional skills. Most parents received this Snapshot at fall conferences. If you missed conferences, the snapshot was sent home.
Horace Mann Recognizes Perfect Attendance
The best gift you can give your child is a good education. And the best place to get an education is at Torringford School. Just a few missed days here and there, even if they’re excused absences, can add up to too much lost learning time. So please make sure your child is in school on time, every day. Our teachers are teaching, and our students are learning!
Thank you to Horace Mann for awarding two of our H.E.R.O.'s with their very own Kindles. You can win a Kindle too. We will have another raffle in March.
We are RESPONSIBLE Citizens
Feeding America reports that in Connecticut, 406,810 people are struggling with hunger - and of them 115,240 are children. Lead by third grade students, Torringford Tigers filled 25 large boxes with non-perishable foods to support our Torrington community.
Kindness is Driving Torringford School
*All monies raised from this campaign will be geared for bus transportation to allow our students to take field trips offsite.
Our children love to play in the snow!
We know that just a few missed days here and there, even if they’re excused absences, can add up to too much lost learning time and put your child behind in school. This is as true in kindergarten as it is in high school. Put simply, too many absences at any age can affect a student’s chances for academic success and eventually for graduation.
We recognize that holidays are an important time for reconnecting with families far away. The costs of plane tickets often influence when you want to travel. But keep in mind the costs to your children’s education if they miss too much school— and the message you will be sending about the importance of attendance.
Our teachers will be teaching, and our students will be learning, right up until vacation starts and the first day back. We celebrate Attendance H.E.R.O.’s! This holiday season, give your children the gift of an education and the habit of attendance.

Fit Together NWC partners with Torringford School
The mission of Fit Together is to build the healthiest kids, families, and communities through sustainable strategies that foster healthy eating and active living.
Fit Together wants to make Connecticut's Northwest Corner one of the healthiest communities in the state. We realize that our future is held by our children, and our challenge is to give them the best chance to live long, healthy, and productive lives.
FitTogether 5210 grant funds helped Torringford get our Sensory Hallway. Check out the FitTogether website for information on how you and your family can start or maintain healthy living habits. We partner with Fit Together for our Wellness Fair each year as well. Coaches, teachers, and families can model the 5210 principals.
