Conference Time!
As we begin to transition out of winter and into spring later this month, we also begin to ramp up planning for some of our bigger events like 5th Grade Camp in April, state testing including SBA, & Science in May, some really fun field trips, not to mention all the projects and performances that will be coming up as well. Before we get to all that though, we will be hosting our student-led conferences. Don't forget that tomorrow, Wednesday the 6th, is an early release day at 11:50. Teachers will be getting ready for those conferences coming up next week.
Student-led conferences are a great way to check in on how students are progressing with the academic and behavior goals, seeing where they need more support and growth, as well as having students set goals that will help them be successful through the remainder of the year and beyond. These conferences allow students, families, and teachers a wonderful opportunity to collaborate and keep the lines of communication flowing.
To allow enough time for this collaboration, we have an early release day on Wednesday, March 13th, and no school on Thursday, March 14th or Friday, March 15th. As they are "student-led conferences", students are required to join in the conferences. Our wonderful PTO volunteers will also be running the Scholastic Spring Bookfair down in the gym during conferences. Make sure to stop by when you come for conferences.
Please continue to take a look at the information and resources below including the upcoming events and dates for your calendar.
Kind regards,
Don Sims

P.S. Keep encouraging kiddos to read at home, whether on their own or with others;-)
