Happy Friday
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I'm proud to announce that Betty Glasgow will be honored as the ProStart Educator of the Year for Missouri. As a result of this distinction, she will be considered for the national ProStart educator award. Congratulations Betty!
CLASSROOM VISITS
If you didn't get to visit other classrooms yesterday, we are doing it again today. It really is fun to get into classes and see the cool stuff happening. Be sure to leave a note on the "wall" or tweet something out using the hashtag. You can see what's been shared at #bhsmatters and #bomopd.
NOMINATIONS ARE DUE TODAY
Please remember to nominate your colleagues for Master Teacher and Staff Person of the Year! It's a great way to lift up the great work someone is doing. Nominations are due by March 4th.

OPEN HOUSE
Open House is Monday from 5:00-8:00PM and Thursday from 5:00-7:00PM. There will be food available both nights at 4:30PM. The new Rotary Interact Club will be taking care of the hospitality on Monday, and we will have some snacks on Thursday too.
DIGITAL LEARNING EXAMPLES
Thanks to those of you who have moved student work into the folder I shared with you yesterday. We would like to showcase examples of projects when the parents are here next week. The SWAT team will be in the commons to show parents how they are using digital devices for learning.
GOOGLE MAPS
I really enjoyed learning more about Google Maps on Wednesday morning. I didn't know just how much you could do with that tool. One thing it made me ponder was that geography can be integrated in just about any subject. When learning involves multiple subjects at the same time, it reflects the way learning in real life happens. We don't typically study "subjects" as lifelong learners. Instead we solve problems or tackle projects that require us to learn new things pulling from a variety of areas.
BENEFIT ELECTION MEETINGS
Capstone will be here March 29th and every staff member will need to meet with them to choose coverage for next year. The sign-up for a time slot is in Sheila's office.
SENIORS NOT GOING ON SENIOR TRIP
Please communicate multiple times next week to your seniors not going on the trip that you look forward to seeing them in class after spring break. You might give them a preview of the learning they will be doing. I will be sending lots of parent communication, including a School Reach call to set the expectation there. If we all pull together there won't be an excuse for not knowing what was expected.
