Be Safe. Be Respectful. Be Responsible.
From Ms. Linsley and Mrs. Reeder
Grading period info
The end of the third grading period was Friday, March 8. The end of the 9 weeks is a great time to check in on your child’s progress. We report grades at the end of each semester so that students have a longer time to demonstrate what they know and can do. Our focus is on mastery learning and supporting a growth mindset in our learners. Instructions for accessing Buzz are linked here. Please email cp2.0parenthelp@cps.k12.in.us if you are having issues accessing your Buzz account. Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher should you have any questions about their progress or to learn more about how you can partner with us to support your child’s academic development.
From the Treasurer, Mrs. Lukas
Notice of Outstanding Fee Balances
Please check your student's power school account to see if there are any outstanding fees for Chromebook repairs, lost library books, etc.
Please note that all fees are due and payable by the end of the school year, or they will be turned over to Kinum, Inc. for collections.
From our PBIS Coach, Mrs. Pape
Mrs. Pape is excited to announce that she will be teaching the Second Steps program for our Kindergartners on a weekly basis beginning on April 1st. The Second Steps program helps students build social-emotional skills—like nurturing positive relationships, managing emotions, and setting goals—so they can thrive in school and in life.

American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge
Jerry Ross JUMPED to it when asked to raise funds for the American Heart Association (AHA) Kids Heart Challenge (KHC). With our inaugural AHA KHC our families came together to make a difference. This difference was shown through the kindness of sending each other Smart Hearts which raised $321.50 as well as reaching out to family and friends and donating monies directly to the AHA KHC in the amount of $11,787.68. Jerry Ross families, THANK YOU for your support in a grand total of $12,111.18!

Mrs.Lukas- Treasurer
-My family and I love college football, especially the Fighting Irish!
-Most of my summer is spent, either on my bike, or on the golf course.
-I am going to be a grandma for the first time in June!
Ms. Martin- Secretary

-I read 62 books last year. So far this year I’ve read 15.
-I’ve lived in 5 states.

Mrs. Reeder- Asst. Principal
-My husband and I renovated a 100-year-old home. We did not hire a general contractor, so it was a 3.5 year project. Mr. Reeder served as GC, and I was the interior designer. The end product was our dream home!
-I am very serious at work, so you’ll probably be surprised to hear that I am the comedian in my friend group. I love making people laugh. I go to stand up comedy acts for fun and even dabbled in stand up in my early 20’s.
-I am a foodie. I could make a hobby out of reading restaurant menus and new recipes. Similar to teaching, I love the art and science of cooking.
-When I lived in Spain, I taught a class of third graders how to speak English. It was one of my greatest challenges to date, but also one of the greatest times in my life.
Ms. Linsley- Principal
-I have visited 11 different countries.
-I am the first and only principal at Jerry Ross Elementary School.
-I played on the boys soccer team my freshman year at Crown Point High School because there was not girls soccer yet.
