M.M.S. News & Notes
April 1, 2022
From the Principal
Good afternoon, M.M.S. Parents and Guardians! Happy first day of April and I promise not to incorporate any April Fool's jokes in this week's edition of News and Notes. The last two weeks have been really positive. Last week the Attorney General's Office offered an outstanding presentation to all students about cyberbullying and digital foot printing. It is hard to believe but this was our first assembly in 1 1/2 years! We must continue to dialogue with our kids about the choices they make on social media.
On Tuesday of this past week, all kids participated in the JA Yes! Program and they had a wonderful experience. Thank you to Junior Achievement and each volunteer who made this experience possible for our kids.
Also, today marks the 1st day of the 4th, marking period. Said another way, we are now on the homestretch with only 45 days of school remaining in the year. Report cards from the 3rd marking period will be posted on Sapphire on April 6. Please speak to your child about the importance of having a strong ending to the year. This momentum will be critical in their transition into next year in the middle school or high school.
As always, do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teachers, counselor or Assistant Principal with any questions or concerns. Hope you all have an outstanding weekend!
Joel Yohn, Principal

From the School Nurse
6th Graders:
Students need a physical exam in 6th grade. Two vaccines (Tdap and Menactra) required for entry into 7th grade are typically given at this visit. Please send in a copy of your child’s 6th grade physical and updated immunizations to the school nurse as soon as possible.
7th Graders:
Students need a dental exam in 7th grade. Please forward a copy of your student’s 7th grade dental exam to the school nurse.
Is my child too sick for school? Please refer to our Health Services website for guidelines on sending students to school:

Note: We are experiencing a growing number of students contacting their parents during the day to go home due to an illness. Please encourage your child to visit the nurses’ office if they are feeling sick, so that we may assess them and contact parents if needed. Students contacting parents without seeing the nurse creates confusion and potential disruption to the school day.
If you have any questions or concerns about your student’s health, please contact Mrs. Kessler (717) 691-2454 or Mrs. Kresge (717) 691-2453). Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe and healthy.
